159. GASLIGHTING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PROPANE

Government and tech companies are telling lies, flip-flopping, and exaggerating to make us anxious, intimidate us, and gaslight us away from reality.

“If you’re part of a poker game, and you don’t know who the patsy is, it’s you.” —Anon

Many of us now understand that the mainstream and social media are controlled. We assume that if a talking head’s mouth is moving, they are lying. And that declaring something a “conspiracy theory” means it is likely true. And that Google searches are tightly controlled.

A familiar example is the claim by the FDA (annual budget $6.5 billion) and CDC ($11.1 billion) that ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are ineffective for treating Covid. Remember their “horse drug campaign” against ivermectin? Early use of these medications along with zinc and vitamin D would likely have saved more than three-quarters of those who died. The “Emergency Use Authorization” invoked to allow the “vaccine” rollout is permitted only when there is no treatment that works. If these drugs were acknowledged effective, the vaccine could not have been authorized, and many people who died from the jab would be alive today.

Our government has a long history of behavior like this. Here are some key events:

  • In 1843 the first advertising agency in the US was founded.

  • In 1917 President Wilson formed the Committee on Public Information, designed to goad the US public into entering the war in Europe (“German soldiers skewering Belgian babies on bayonets!!”)

  • In 1942 President Roosevelt created the Office of War Information (OWI) and the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).

  • In 1945 President Truman transferred propaganda operations to the Department of State.

  • In 1947 President Truman replaced the OSS with the CIA.

  • In 1947 (one month later) President Truman signed into law The National Security Act creating the National Security Council. Many consider this the birth of “the deep state” or “the shadow government.”

  • In 1948 the Smith-Mundt Act authorized the State Department to engage in propagandizing foreign countries as a form of public diplomacy but forbade doing so within the US.

  • In 2012 the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act, signed by President Obama, eliminated the prohibition on inside-the-US propaganda. This permitted the federal government to lie to us.

On July 19, 2010, the Washington Post reported the extent of the US “security” state:

Some 1,271 government organizations and 1,931 private companies work on programs related to counterterrorism, homeland security and intelligence in about 10,000 locations across the United States. An estimated 854,000 people, nearly 1½ times as many people as live in Washington, D.C., hold top-secret security clearances. In Washington and the surrounding area, 33 building complexes for top-secret intelligence work are under construction or have been built since September 2001. Together they occupy the equivalent of almost three Pentagons or 22 U.S. Capitol buildings…

We are now paying these jackals to spy on us (illegal) and lie to us (legal). How do they pull it off? The familiar propaganda methods include repetition, fearmongering, censoring news, and use of celebrities. Here are some others that you may well recognize from our recent history:

  • Name Calling and Ridicule. Schoolyard stuff, yes, but it will drive away a certain percentage of readers who cannot handle unpleasantness.

  • Glittering Generalities. The opposite of Name Calling. Casting a halo of goodness over a favored person, group or behavior.

  • Plain Folks. Portraying notable persons of extreme privilege as just like you and me, e.g., Bill Clinton eating at McDonalds.

  • Bandwagon. Claiming that ‘people who care about others’ are all getting vaccinated.

  • Unwarranted Extrapolation. If you don’t get vaccinated, this pandemic will go on for years.

  • Become Indignant. “How dare you say that masks are not effective.”

  • Frame as Rumor. Story comes from the wrong side of the tracks. “Another internet rumor.”

  • The Straw Man. Focus on the weakest element of the opposition’s claims and address only that element; or, create a similar-seeming body of information which is designed to be weak and attackable.

  • Concoct Motives. Invent hidden agendas to apply to your opponent.

  • Disingenuous Confession. Select a trivial element of opponent’s complaint and confess that “unfortunate mistakes were made” and so on. These crocodile tears will gain good will from the naïve.

  • It’s Complicated. The burdens of complexity make for an imperfect world, and certainly a reasonable person would understand.

  • Demand Perfection. The opponent must solve and explain every aspect of the undesirable program or event. Otherwise, they are just whining and shooting from the hip.

  • Ignore Proof Presented. Sounds like it wouldn’t work very well, but tragically it does. Has happened every month since March 2020.

  • Call for a Special Investigation. An expensive form of dawdling masquerading as a response.

  • Teamwork. TV, print, celebrity, scientist, law enforcement, all in agreement over the large issue. This costs a lot of money and is ideal for a fascist government, which is an amalgam of state and corporate interests.

  • Conspiracy Theory. Calling something a ‘conspiracy theory’ switches off the interest of many people. This was used by the CIA after John Kennedy’s assassination to discredit the evidence that they murdered him. It has been effective again and again.

  • Additional Evidence Required. But the public never hears the challenges because of censorship. This has been used many times during the Covid operation.

  • Appeal to Authority. For example, Fauci has famously equated himself with Science.

  • For more, see the Appendix to this post.

The government and tech companies are feeding us lies in a pure power play. Disorienting and intimidating us with Covid is just their start, and they have more planned. If we give up our peace of mind, we can be herded in any direction and then easily fleeced by the global psychopaths. They doing this out of weakness, not strength—if they could, they would march us around at the point of a gun. We face at most only a few thousand entitled criminals.

They are doing “psy-ops” (psychological operations) to change our view of reality. As they feed us incessant nonsense about transgenders, idiotic lies about carbon excess, and even try to normalize pedophilia, we are the famous frog in the lukewarm cooking pot heading toward a boil. We must never forget that the news, the CDC, the FDA, the CIA, and other agencies are coordinated deception centers.

Edward Snowden weighs in about the CIA HERE:

From the year it was established, Presidents and their cadres have regularly directed the CIA to go beyond the law for reasons that cannot be justified, and therefore must be concealed — classified. The primary result of the classification system is not an increase in national security, but a decrease in transparency. Without meaningful transparency, there is no accountability, and without accountability, there is no learning.

Think back five years. Would you have thought it normal to have a cotton swab shoved up your nose to see if you are sick when you feel fine? We must fight to ensure that this absurdity and many others are never viewed as normal.

In Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl wrote, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” He was in a concentration camp and helpless, but our situation is entirely different. We have many actions that we can take.

Criminal prosecutions are starting or pending for hundreds of offenders. They are guilty of horrific crimes. General awareness of their evil deeds is finally percolating through our society. We have the power to punish them, and we must seize it. Through it all, we must maintain our equanimity, learn what is true, and learn what is just fear porn to be ignored. We cannot let these gangsters psych us out.

APPENDIX: more propaganda reality-distortion techniques.

  • Never Show Anger. Let the opponent get angry. Your constant calm implies that the opponent doesn’t understand proper social behavior.

  • Framing. Many things are reported in the news, but few are explained. Events just seem random and surprising; never the result of malevolent forces or hidden influencers.

  • Guilt by Association. Associate the opponent with an already disliked group. E.g., ”Mr. Complainer, reading from the white supremacist playbook, says that…”

  • Least of Evils. The criticized act/program can be compared to worse alternatives, and the worse, the better.

  • Virtue Words. For example, Biden saying that Trump MAGA hordes are a threat to DEMOCRACY.

  • Loaded Questions. Have you stopped beating your wife? Aren’t you worried your child will die from measles?

  • Humor. For example, political cartoons have the effect of implying that if an issue can be made fun of, it is under control and only a Nervous Nellie would truly fret about it.

  • Pure Motives. As the governors of our states persisted in destroying small businesses left and right during lockdowns, they reminded us that they were “acting out of an abundance of caution.”

  • Selective Omission. The propagandist cherry-picks his facts and avoids the embarrassing bits.

  • Misquote to Condemn. Usually involves abridging a statement and taking it out of context.

  • False Dichotomy. Two choices are offered when others are viable. Our present reality is built on this deception: Republican/Democrat, pro-vax/anti-vax, CNN/Fox News.

  • Slippery Slope. The propagandist claims that non-compliance will lead to disaster.

  • Anonymous Authority. “Scientists have found… Doctors have warned… Reliable authorities predict…”

  • Attack the Authority. For Covid, “Dr. So-and-So is a trauma surgeon, not an infectious disease specialist.”

  • Style Over Substance. The Atlantic. The New Yorker. This is expensive, thus ideal for corporate-government fascism.

  • Strategic Labeling. Positive: the healthy economy, strong national security. Negative: leftist guerillas, civil disturbance, controversial claim.

  • Slighting of Content. For elections: who was nominated, how they are polling, how their party is polling without discussing the issues.

  • False Balancing. Conflicts between the Israelis and the Palestinians portrayed like the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, when the Palestinians don’t have machine guns, tanks, and jet aircraft.

  • Blame Game. Most people want to blame someone, so there is low resistance to accepting the a scapegoat.

  • Create a Bigger Distraction. When all else fails. Since psychopaths enjoy gaslighting, they may do it for their own pleasure.
