I have a couple of questions I hope you can address: (They are not MRI-related, but are at the heart of radiology.)
1) How much of a difference in image quality is there in CT scans with contrast and CT scans without contrast?
2) How persistent and how dangerous are the contrast agents typically used in CT scans?
and this one is MRI-related, 3) Are the very strong magnetic fields that are used in MRIs dangerous? Is much known about the health ramifications of them?
I must share a story about a radiologist from long ago. In this case, a Radiation Oncology Resident I met at UCLA Medical Center. At the time, Paul was a PGY-4 (in the 4th year of his post-grad, required internship/residency). Over lunch and in between a couple of lectures that we were interested in, he shared the following story with me:
He was nearing the end of his 3rd post-grad year when his residency supervisor, the attending physician on the case, and also the department head for Radiation Oncology, had him sit in on a consult with a new patient.
The patient was an elderly gentleman, suffering from late-stage, metastatic prostate cancer. He had just been admitted to the hospital. Clearly, he was very, very ill and pretty much past the point of any real benefit from any further medical treatment.
Despite that, Paul's supervisor, the Attending Physician on the case, assigned Paul to map out a treatment plan based on radiation therapy. Paul was skeptical that it would be beneficial, but he was under orders from his supervisor.
Paul mapped out 4 treatments, 2 days apart, which was in alignment with the standard of care at the time. Paul had reservations, but his supervisor insisted.
By the day after the 2nd radiation treatment, the patient had declined severely. Concerned that the radiation therapy was not helping and was actually making things worse, Paul went to his supervisor and asked if they could terminate the radiation therapy. His supervisor acknowledged that the radiation was not helping and did not even seem surprised. Nonetheless, he insisted that Paul proceed with the 3rd treatment.
Paul was even so bold as to point out that further radiation was likely to hasten their patient's death. His supervisor did not dispute that, but again insisted on a 3rd treatment.
Paul was astonished and asked his supervisor why. The reply was, "Unless we deliver a minimum of 3 treatments, we will not be reimbursed by the patient's insurance."
Paul was beyond shocked by that reply and refused. He very narrowly escaped being kicked out of the program.
This permanently altered my view of the radiology profession.
For some bizarre reason(Medical Mafia) this does not surprise me. Oncology(Poison and Burn) and Pediatrics(Wellness jabs) are two very dishonest disciplines. As someone who writes this substack has mentioned:

This whole conversation prompts me to wonder about another crucial imaging question: I have heard that there are legitimate concerns that the very strong magnetic fields used to generate MRI images may be harmful. I wonder if there is any truth to that. Perhaps MRIs, even without the contrast agents, are not nearly as safe and "benign" as we have been led to believe?

Due to aggressive and mostly successful propaganda, most Americans do NOT know that as a nation, we spend more than twice as much money per capita as the next most expensive system in the world, and yet are ranked below 37th from the top of the list in terms of success.

In the NHS, UK they don't tell you what sort of contrast & dye & expect you to just accept it & nothing can go possibly go wrong! What do they give you in the way of contrast & dye with a CT scan? I have kidney issues & being over 70 didn't want this to see if I had/prove colo-rectal cancer with the contrast/dye going through all those other organs of my body first. Consultant would not agree to anything else, no MRI scan. He just simply refused to listen to my sensible reasons & I didn't want to end up with another possibly permanent health problem as I have others caused by the NHS. I am receiving no medical treatment at all & am using repurposed drugs Ive & Fen & trying to keep to a fatty more protein diet, low glucose & carbohydrates, a few supplements what I can find which is hard in the UK. I want to get Melatonin as I am not sleeping well at & wake jittery which is not normal for me. Cannot buy over the counter in the UK. All my dr GP could do which I asked for, has been to recently prescribe me with the maximum dose of, can you believe it, 2mg! 😅 It is laughable. I know the benefits you speak about in your previous post which is why I need it. Just can't find anything online to get it. We are allowed to buy it for our own personal use from abroad. A friend of mine was given this chemo cream by her doctor who tells her shes a candidate for skin cancer.... and it burned her neck and face really bad. I said "he burned your face and neck for an illness you dont have, Id fire him". She said "I trust him". I just cant even believe what some are willing to do for their doctors. And hes telling her it will only protect her for so long, she will have to do it again. Protect her?? It scarred her for life. For something she doesnt even have!!!! What do ya tell these people??? What a helpless feeling to watch this doctor continue to harm her. Shes already sick from the Covid vaccine and her doctor is telling her its because she had Covid. She has bouts where she cant breathe and her chest hurts. Since when does having a cold make you permanently ill? What can ya do for people who do this to themselves? Seems like self harm at this point.
For some, unfortunately, the suffocating indoctrination and misguided respect has crteated such a level of coignitive dissonance that its a mental block almost impossible to remove.

When the vastly improved Zirconia Crowns and post were first available hosted a dentist representing Ceraroot. His family of dentists did the R&D but also manufactured the products. Attended implant surgery and assisted at local Biological dentist office. Being certain there is adequate bone density to accept the implant post is crucial.
One short vid advertisement took a CeraRoot crown placed it on a thick wood object and hit it with a several # hammer. After extracting the crown from the wood it was undamaged... That was impressive.
Now a Swiss company has competing product line.
Was not aware of the yttrium possible issue.
One interation of electrical impedence testing was used 35 years ago called the Interro. It allegedly checked for bio compatibility.
Since then there are many others.
