Then you have these buttholes. The first encounter with this was a decade old article. Daycare, 1 10 month old and 1 toddler. Idiots didn't know how to use the right doses. When supplements went to Gummies I knew we'd be seeing more stories of abuse of Melatonin and Melatonin/CBD or just CBD. Stickers/patchers are the newer. I probably stuck it in one of my Baby Food Stories. 530% increase in kids poisoning.
Two Texas preschool teachers suspended after 'drugging children to keep them quiet in class' Melatonin
Two Babies Have Died And Many More Children Have Been Hospitalized Due To Melatonin Overdoses, A Study Says. Now we find out that this is a decade-old issue, among teachers, and daycares, several were charged with criminal intent or worse using Melatonin on your children. I will repeat these don’t come with childproof caps. There are other more dangerous supplements, in gummy form. Calcium and Magnesium are heart regulators, besides bone supplements. Adult doses in excess are dangerous to children.
Thank you. Love this article but I have to ask must we not also consider the effects of one of the dumbest things we do? That being, "Daylight Saving Time?"
no kidding - not to mention that it skews our natural rhythms - like high noon is no longer actual noon during the many months of "DST". And "they" are increasingly trying to get the skewed time instituted year round.
How sick is that? And how sick will it make us all. Our sunlight diminishes enough in the darker winter months here in the N. We do not need to deal with even more foolishness.
Thanks Dr Yoho - i think it might be wise to reconsider chronic melatonin supplementation, except perhaps temporarily for cancer, prior to ionizing radiation exposure and maybe to alleviate jet-lag. Jack Kruse claims that exogenous melatonin (pills) thin the retina. I don't know if that is true, but i quit it entirely after hearing that. His mantra is "if you're designed to make it, you're not designed to take it" which goes for vit D also. I think he is probably right.
Nearly 30 years ago i talked to Russel Reiter at a conference. He was presenting on melatonin, which he had been studying for 30 years even then. At that time the supplement industry was heavily touting melatonin, and i had been trying it for jet lag - a 2.5mg sublingual dose (Source Naturals brand). But i would wake up an hour later. He said larger doses were a problem (and at that time he considered 2.5 mg large) because it was the dropping melatonin level which signaled the body to awaken, and larger doses would of course be dropping in your bloodstream. He suggested 0.25 mg, which i pretty much used ever since when needed, until i heard about the retina thinning . . .
Dr Reiter also said at that time that it was not good to take melatonin if you were on certain heart drugs (i think it was beta blockers, but may have been calcium channel blockers). He said that was why he, himself, did not take it.
So how have i been getting good sleep? Primarily i just use natural light exposure. For years i have been using all of the circadian rhythm-promoting practices you mentioned - especially early morning/sunrise light directly into my eyes, lots of sunbathing, outside a lot, much less screen-time than most people (i don't even use a cellphone) blue-blockers on eyes and screens esp at night, almost entirely red lights only at night, not inside much during day unless nearby windows are open, etc. And the latest thing which seems to also really help - drinking lots of kefir daily. Maybe the little beasties in it make melatonin, who knows.
You are a man among men. I am so glad I found this website ( from either Pierre Kory or AMD) as it just enhances my health journey to the nth degree. I was awakened to the self help world via COVID. The Bible talks about God making every bad thing good for those who love Him, and it’s through people like you. Thank you so much!
Btw I use oura ring for 3+years my REM sleep time has been inconsistently low but for 1 week have been using the melatonin lotion my REM has averaged 40minutes most nights.
A timely post for me as I'm heading to Tiajuana in a week to have dental work at Dr. Lagos' clinic. He has me on supplements in preparation for surgery. Now I start implementing what I can of your suggestions.
BTW I hope you are happy with the cosmetic results of your own dental work by Lagos. I'm vain about my teeth, and he's doing a complete overhaul of some very expensive work.
You are in good hands. Say hello. My work is cosmetically great. Remember that he has to work with damage to tooth structure that was done in the past.
Yes. Unfortunately I've lost a lot of structure. Like you, my teeth were deeply compromisefed by bad dentistry as a child. About twenty years ago I had mercury filings removed in London. I was hoping she ( my dentist there) did a good job, but it looks like Lagos has doubts as to it being clean under those crowns, so "off with their heads"!
But yeah. I had more than one acquaintance there, with enflamed gums, whose dentists encouraged them to just to let them pull all teeth in exchange for posts!
I used to love the Timeshifter app but they changed it and it's not so good anymore. And yes, it gets much harder as you get older.
Regarding melatonin, that explains why my hair changed back from gray'ish, all the melatonin I took for cancer. But I read somewhere that it doesn't dissolve well in water and it dissolves best i alcohol. This person mixed it with a few drops of vodka to dissolve it.
I flew to Heathrow from Denver in 2003 and didn't get drowsy until the sun went down in London. A good night's sleep was all I needed to reset my circadian rhythm. The same was true three weeks later when I flew back from Amsterdam.
I have not done well with it either but I'm hoping the large doses of the two recommended brands will be better. I will try to stick with it for several weeks.
I heard that jellyfish and hydra genes were found in the vaccines. Jellyfish for biological marking and hydra for experiments in immortality. Sounded kind of biblical.
Thanks for your encouragement and all the love I get from my readers, and I continue on OSR. Significant symptomatic improvement is usually not reported except for highly poisonous overdoses. My problem is chronic--I have had a tremor for a decade, and other gradual signs developed even before that. So I think I am better, especially after an apical abscess was drilled out of one of my molars recently. I am getting a ceramic implant placed.
I thought you said recently you will redo some (blood?) test that shows whether the mercury has been knocked down?
I have just discovered dry fasting. And have tried it. I was just before that dxed with early diabetes, and it's amazing the difference it's made already. Might it help with P as well?
I am flummoxed that such high doses of melatonin are tolerated by anyone. I have a partial very old bottle of 1mg (1000 mcg) Shiff Melatonin tablets of which I can only take a small fragment of a pill before bed or I experience a serious "melatonin hangover" the next morning - extreme low energy, dragginess, etc. I know someone who won't take melatonin (and we're talking low dose still) because when he did there were instances where he slept so soundly he wet the bed rather than wakening to go to the bathroom. How to reconcile this?
Excellent Research, and advise as always.

wow, the lies never cease. Hard to achieve credibility using the truth these days.

Hold tight through the next post and smack me if I am off topic ha.
One can make a topical melatonin using little alcohol and lotion. Topical melatonin is useful for pain.

I have high hopes.
London dentistry is abysmal
But yeah. I had more than one acquaintance there, with enflamed gums, whose dentists encouraged them to just to let them pull all teeth in exchange for posts!
She was Danish though.
Oddly enough, my long covid symptoms improved dramatically recently during a major west to east time shift of 8 hours

white/grey hair is a mark of severe aging if it occurs suddenly. When CD4 counts drop below 200 for AIDS patients, they are not doing well.

try it now and it might be harder as you are more mature
I can't take Melatonin, it gives me bad headaches, even in small amounts

So Doc, has the super duper mercury chelator you've been on done the job?
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Found it on pure bulk.com. All good - Thanks
The bulk supplements.com is showing melatonin no page for all melatonin products, pills and powder. Wondering, if you know why?
try the links supplied I had no problem
Some great advice here.
