FROM A READER FRIEND WHO HAS A HUGE SOCIAL MEDIA REACH:

Wow. What a comprehensive newsletter. You are the bomb. I love how you provide a synopsis of the most important topics at the end. I love your humility in admitting where you have been wrong.

I read that you are starting the keto diet. As you know, I’ve been on keto for many years. One thing that has concerned me about it is the elevation in my lipids. I always was 160 total cholesterol. On keto, it’s gone up to 230. But the ratio, which was always excellent is even better now. Still, I wonder if my leaky gut makes me absorb and not fully process all the fats, hence why my cholesterol is elevated. And, lately, I’ve been seeing nodules on the backs of my arms and I’ve wondered if my liver is having difficulty.

Dr. Axe recommends keto cycling in which you introduce higher carbs a couple times a week.

From what I understand, constant keto can lower thyroid function, which I now have.

Just now I came across this piece of research that does correlate keto diet with hyperlipidemia and fatty liver disease: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7008768/#:~:text=The%20ketogenic%20diet%20is%20a,onset%20of%20fatty%20liver%20disease.

How are you feeling? The Parkinson’s?

The whole lipid and cholesterol story is fraud from start to finish. I have planned to outline this but events conspired against me. So don't think about your cholesterol or ratio or anything about this ever again.

Much more important by far than the numbers are the inflammatory marker results which tell a truer story . Certain lipoprotein results such as particle number and homocysteine are sole predictors of future events ( MI and Stroke). I often wonder why they aren’t looked at frequently instead of just plunking onto RX.

I had Graves disease in 2001 and recommended RAI treatment resulting in ablation of my thyroid, and, therefore, essential daily Thyroid supplement. Wish I had my thyroid back which is gone forever. I distrust that I actually needed the treatment, but in those days just listened to Drs. Wholeheartedly. Now, at 65 yo, wonder if my energy level is not what it should be despite my TSH consistently around .02, which I know is almost 0 but seems optimal for me?

Another factor that possibly played into the thyroid reading in 2001 was I had contracted silicone br implants. I wondered if they threw off a normal reading being possible?

Does one even need to get cholesterol tested? What if you have thickening of carotid artery at age 60 but a zero calcium coronary artery score?

For myself, I've concluded these tests are nonsense. But you need to make your own assessment

Testing of certain factors can yield information re a future event ( heart attack or stroke) . These include particle numbers , homocysteine and inflammatory markers ... I consider it my job to be preventative in my patient care . Many of my patients are tested using SpectraCell Labs Lipoprotein profile . I was taught this by Mark Houston , MD , who was (is ?) head of the Vanderbilt Hypertension Institute .

Other than this , it’s my belief that the typical cholesterol testing , esp. without inflammatory markers is near worthless .

Thanks Dr Tamara! Please mention or ask Dr YoHo to mention if you are working w this B1 approach. I will look at the rest you recommended as I’m sure the micronutrients issues effect many many conditions— I’m researching for several family now who don’t have anything helping them in the mainstream care system. These days I think people are breaking the molds and the grips the establishment has on holding off tx where there is nothing in their toolkit but others do have help. The Right to Try is a big deal. I’m very excited to see Dr Marik has a cancer book out and though I haven’t had time to study — I excited about the ivermectin combinations w other easy to use substances that may mitigate prion and cancer. 💜

I got my uncle Daphne Bryan PhD book Parkinson’s and B1 Therapy which is her personal story of getting to 90% remediation— I was led to look at her by Elliot Overton CFMP DipCNM at EONutrition in EU. I believe the doses are much higher and there are variations in B1 as well as perhaps some cofactors that affect bioavailability. My uncle just called to say he wants to look into this and so I’m going to dig in now and look at these sources and updates in the literature— I will send you what I find too. But it will be a little while. Also going to look at Dr Tamara comment on Micronutrient test SpectaCell. I don’t know if anyone but Elliot is dug into this as he said it’s strikingly (my word) under appreciated for PD and other conditions. I think his website can be investigated for consultancy and remotely — working out the time delay. I also first saw him teaching a zoom class carried on YouTube with a lot of gray haired physicians SO he may have a US referall among them. I’m going to have to find someone for my uncle because I’m not holding my breath the eminent docs at his well known academic hospital will take him through his own clinical self study! 💜

Quick note- D Bryan’s book is dedicated to Dr Antonio Constantini. He has passed from C19 but the website has dosing advice for High Dose Thiamine and a wealth of other notes for clinical and personalized protocol application based on thousands of patients treated and referenced studies (see Blog tab). So the Thiamine tx is described as “pathogenetic” and there is a good lay level discussion of the limits on modifying the underlying pathology — BUT very positive discussion on rapid symptom improvement and arresting disease evolution. This last point seems very important and I’m telling my uncle that time matters. I think you will like the website for your list.

https://highdosethiamine.org/

About page is interesting too. Also other autoimmune conditions that benefit from this therapy are listed — this is so important in the current post c19 environment where autoimmune injuries are abounding. We need to keep this out of the hands of the dark forces who will make the average Joe get an RX for a hundred bucks. Sen Durbin of Illinois pursued the supplement freedom over 20 years ago with Hilary of NY. — Durbin is still at it and of course it’s all framed as protection. Sen Harkin and Orin Hatch stopped the devils but we need champions now.

I’m saving this for when I have time to listen. I’m a fan of naturopaths after all the revelations about the medical profession since Covid. In one sentence, I only go to an MD in an emergency.

I had absolutely wonderful gyn and neurologist who have retired (young) because they were single practitioner practices and it was too much after Obamacare. Both were very out of the box thinkers, very interested In naturopathic medicine as well as conventional.

Using my naturopathic doctor; low carb (but not as low as keto); not eating wheat, corn, or soy (I have celiac, and did an elimination diet which showed very big reactions to corn and soy); and doing intermittent fasting/time restricted eating has improved my health tremendously over the past 6 months.

My naturopath did a lot of tests - full blood, stool, DUTCH. She spent hours reading and comparing, which led to holistic conclusions versus a “conclusion” per line item. We try things, see how they work, adjust, change... she’s always available to talk with, ask questions, etc. I’ve had more benefit in the past 6 mos than most of my life combined with medicine, barring with my 2 retired physicians.

This all started for me when I read Dr. Catherine Shanahan’s book Deep Nutrition, which I highly recommend. Also The Cholesterol Myth. Those books, as well as other naturopathic doctors who have videos and websites like Dr Mercola’s, changed my life. I don’t always agree with everything online, obviously, but when you dive deep you see patterns and consensus emerge - and since naturopathic medicine isn’t going to poison you to try, you can see what works for you and what doesn’t.

I sent this to a friend who has worked in the supplement/detox biz for years and blogs for alternative practitioners. She wrote:

You know once these MDs become enlightened, it’s really heartwarming to see how humble they become.

….and I have so much respect for them! Imagine studying and training for 10-12 years, in a specific way of “helping” people, becoming more educated (and in debt) than most other segments of society…then, through a series of events, your eyes are opened, you realize you’ve really been working for big Pharma that whole time and not helping most people… your entire world is turned upside down -and you suddenly feel compelled to respect people you were taught to view as quacks, charlatans, or frauds. That then leads to another 5-10 years buried in an entirely different course of study (and more debt.) Their dedication is commendable to say the least.

Thank you Dr. Yoho and Dr. Santa Ana for this great podcast! Wow!! So encouraging and informative!

An anecdotal real life story. Last year at 58 years young I got afib. I didn’t take the vaccine so it wasn’t Vax induced. I now know I went into afib because it was the perfect storm of being at high altitude, having too much thyroid medicine circulating in my body (armour thyroid) and too little iodine, magnesium and potassium (something most Drs are not going to look for). Anyhow, after a trip to the ER while in afib, the next week I went to my cardiologist and in addition to discussing afib with him, I was also having some pain the day I went to see him which was moving around from my throat to my shoulder area. He thought I also might be presenting with CAD. So, I got a cardiac ultra sound which shocked him because it was perfect. I had no swelling in legs either. When I got through with the ultrasound he said “ I am not sure what’s going on but I think we should do a heart catherization to check for blockage and/or let’s do a nuclear stress test.” I told him that I’d had a coronary calcium test two years ago that was a zero or a perfect score=no blockage (most of the time, I believe 96% of the time). My husband asked him “what procedure would you do if it was your wife?” (which I’m not sure a Dr will answer that truthfully IMHO) and he replied the heart cath. We asked what risks were. He said minimal but yes, one could die from it but highly unlikely. He still thought I should do one or the other so under pressure with both my husband and my cardiologist who is also a friend staring at me waiting for my answer (no pressure at all, NOT) I said I’d do the nuclear stress test and we scheduled it for the next morning.

I left his office and googled nuclear stress test and found out Nuclear stress tests involve significant radiation exposure equivalent to approximately 400 chest x-rays!! There are also risks involved besides potentially developing cancer due to unnecessary radiation exposure. https://www.oliverwyman.com/our-expertise/perspectives/health/2019/apr/-is-this-necessary----some-docs-order-too-many-expensive--danger.html

https://www.fiercehealthcare.com/it/fda-nuclear-stress-test-agents-carry-fatal-risks

I also discovered there’s an organization out there that is trying to build awareness around the dangers of these tests in an effort to help Drs use safer tests to get the same information.

So, I promptly cancelled that test. I really felt that my Dr was barking up the wrong tree as I believe I’m pretty healthy, have low cholesterol, eat well most of the time, and don’t take any prescription medicine except armour for my thyroid.

Looking back, I believe this weird pain was due to elevated HS CRP and/or thickening of one of my carotid arteries. I’m still not sure though. But, I have learned to manage my afib using supplements (I researched about 100 hours to figure out root causes and alternatives to drugs). It wasn’t a fast or easy process but I’m doing great and in the last nine months, I hardly experience that weird pain or any afib episodes.I stopped taking metoporal after a few months which is the drug they give to almost everyone who has afib after realizing there were nutrients like magnesium that I was lacking that made me go into afib. I also was drinking a lot of alcohol (2 glasses of wine a night). So, I changed my lifestyle and worked with my GP who is more naturopathic in his treatment approach. Instead of looking at my heart/body at a 30,000 foot level, we looked at my magnesium, thyroid, iodine etc! The last time I went to see my GP, he listened to my heart and said it was the best heart he would hear all day!! Albeit, I have those creases on my ears!! My cardiologist told me that afib begets afib and when I walked out of his office, I said to myself “normal heart rhythm begets normal heart rhythm” and that was going to be my story and truth. And, now it is. I share this because I want everyone to know, we all have the ability to have these type of anecdotal, medical success stories!!

I repeat, I encourage everyone on here to do their own research. This substack is AMAZING and a great place to start! Our collective medical awakening should not just be about these death/disabling clot shots and the fraud that was perpetrated on us and continues to be in the name of science. Our awakening should be about all public health. Every Dr, medicine you’re given and every procedure recommended to you, many of which are just for DRS to CYA should be questioned, scrutinized and researched. Who cares if insurance pays for it if it’s harmful???

Read studies about every side effect of any drug you take or medical procedure and try to discover if changing your lifestyle (exercising more, abstinence from alcohol, making better food choices) is the cure. Is it work? Yes. Is it easier than taking a pill? No. But, until we start taking charge of our own health instead of giving it over to Drs, nothing will change.

Be blessed and be healthy. Just say “no.”

Do you mind if I reply again ? You brought up an excellent point that many are just not aware of ... the amount of radiation in some of these tests . It’s astounding to me that it seems so many of these tests are ordered non -chalantly . A Dexxa scan has something like the equivalent of 50 lumbar spine X-rays ( Google this ). The low back is thicker than other areas and thus requires a higher amount of radiation . And to think of all the hundreds of times I tried not to over x-Ray even by one xray .

And what about shooting our breasts full of radiation !!!? So , thank you for bringing out this important point .
