Robert,

Darn good article.

Thanks for doing what you do and being who you are!

I was glad to see Dr. Devra Davis in the mix because the majority of EMF "experts" are charlatans.

Dave Stetzer seems to be the king of the charlatans, talking about "dirty electricity" as if it will kill you quick, when it has been everywhere since creation and constitutes noise in more than one way.

Having held a First Class Radiotelephone License since1977, it having been grandfathered into a General Radiotelephone Operators License in 1986, and having worked in volt per meter medium wave field strengths, if I didn't know what I know, I'd have died of fright long ago.

It is pretty simple, if the EMF isn't ionizing, don't worry about it. Ionizing radiation begins at the bottom of the UHF band at 300 MegaHertz (MHz). It's danger at that frequency is slight at the power levels in use for telecommunications. Microwave ovens and the original "analog" cellular phones operated at about one GigaHertz (GHz), and 5G is slated to get to 60 GHz eventually. The higher the frequency, the more energy the signal contains, and the more dangerous it is. Look up inverse square law and you'll know more than amny charlatan I've encountered.

I appreciate your comment and I'm a layman here, but the whole point of my post was to indict non ionizing IMF. See my references.

What is IMF?

sorry EMF

Non-ionizing EMF is safer than the "safe and effective" Covid "vaccines."

It is the ionization of biological tissues, especially DNA and RNA, that causes the damage done by ionizing radiation, regardless of whether it is electromagnetic or cosmic.

If I may suggest one more name, Arthur Firstenberg. He has an incredible book, “The Invisible Rainbow”

Thanks for this, I’ll take it in slowly bit by bit.

Thank you for writing this. I will look at all your links.

I might suggest, if you haven't already read it: The Invisible Rainbow by Arthur Firstenberg .. an excellent source of electricity from the beginning.

Just a note:

The use of any earbud or in the ear speaker products may result in hearing loss, wired and bluetooth. There are numerous studies and observations by ear/hearing doctors and audiologist on this. Too many suffer hearing loss from prolong use of a single ear bud in the same ear over time.

Do your own research but please stop using earbuds no matter how convenient they are.

Once you loose your hearing, you may never get it back.

As far as I can tell these are volume related not EMF

I've been curious about near and far infrared saunas and LED red light systems which are - supposedly - good for health. https://platinumtherapylights.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=IWDM+%7C+PlatinumLED+%3E+Brand+-+US&gad=1

Some frequencies are good? Some frequencies are bad? I have no confidence in any of it, but wish I knew.

I'm analyzing this and will post eventually

I've wanted a DB meter to measure the sound level in stores that cause my hearing aids to be unusable. The sound level is way too high to hear anything but the background noises. It exceeds the 40 DB Shooting muffs, with earplugs at an indoor range, It hurts and gives me a migraine. There are State/Federal laws that govern the sound levels.

I use a NIOSH app on an iphone that is ok. It's free and allows recording. It is not the most user friendly but it works. There are a lot of hand held sound level meters available for purchase from $$ to $$$$.

Great article - appreciate all the practical ways to get started avoiding EMF's. I've been highly suspicious of my whole-body vibration machine and was wondering if there were any kinds of shoes (rubber-soled?) that would mitigate the effect of standing on two powerful motors. Have been slow to check it out as I really like it. Your comments about the treadmill might kickstart the process.

Any idea why some are more sensitive to EMFs?

Nobody knows but we are all damaged by them.

Many years ago, I was the product manager of a software system designed by Bell Labs. Every time we added a new hardware component, we put it through EMF testing in a lab we had in Columbus, Ohio. We did this because some hardware vendors did nothing to manage the EMF emitting from their products, and if their piece of hardware was "dirty" (emitting EMF), it could affect the performance of other hardware components around it, in the data center environment. So, every component we added was required to be certified as having passed EMF testing. I was in a data center once, in which my customer added a component we had not certified. It was a large TV. It was emitting EMF, and the screens on the other TV's nearby just kept flipping and flipping. I never stopped to consider, though, the effect it might have on the human body.

I suspect you are recalling EMI testing - Electromagnetic Interference. Our early computers were horrid EM noise generators. The first "home built kit" - the MITS computer could be programmed to produce tunes in nearby radios. Switching power supplies are notorious for creating electrical noise so must be adequately filtered and shielded. CRT TVs produce a lot of EM noise as well. Sensitive instruments must be used to capture the fast transients that lead to noise. Fast impulse noise is inherently wideband noise. That is why EVs have proposed eliminating AM radios in those vehicles because the EV creates a lot of interference to AM radios and they don't want to suppress the noise.

as far as i could tell, putting aluminum around modem / router didn't decrease the signal strength to my laptop some 20 feet away... i ran a copper wire from the aluminum foil to galvanized water pipe that should be an earth ground... ( i believe router puts out both 2.4 and 5 ghz but could be wrong on that)

why did my experiment fail?

holes in the foil where the wires go through letting out the RF ?

the connection to the water line and aluminum foil wasn't as good as i had hoped?

(alligator clip to aluminum foil and wrapped copper wire around the pipe)

corrosion (rust) between the water line and the earth?

there is moisture in the soil.... and runs through the soil some 50 feet.

i believe the meter conducts electricity through it, but haven't checked it with an ohm meter.

not enough free electrons in the aluminum foil? electrical resistance in the foil?

Specialized Faraday bags decrease router strength. The modern ones are far too strong. Stay tuned for my next EMF post.

Thanks Dr. Yoho. Electro smog is the key.

Your sensitivity is just the tip of this gigantic iceberg.

We're all exposed to it constantly. You & others just have a stronger reaction to it, than the majority of us.

And even if you don't feel it you are being damaged
