I was diagnosed with UC just over two years ago during a bad flare. Since then I have had another bad one and was not sure I would make it. It was a scary time, but I absolutely refused to go on biologics even though everyone was telling me I needed to. It took some trial and error, but I ended up on the carnivore diet and slowly started getting better. I have now been on the diet for a over a year. I have to tweak things on it every now and then, but have learned that beef is the least inflammatory food. I always go back to just that if I'm starting to have a flare. I have a very bad case of UC. I can't eat as much as many others on the carnivore diet, but I am so very thankful that I can feel good and not have to be on any medications.

The next thing on my list to try is extended dry fasting after reading your article about the woman who healed her Lyme disease (my sister has that too and I sent the article to her also). I have done a few 24 hour dry fasts and am planning to try a three day dry fast before long. The 24 hour dry fasts have been beneficial already. I have heard and also believe that giving my bowels a break, it can provide the healing it needs. I'm hoping I might even be able to completely heal through fasting, but I won't know until I try doing extended dry fasts.

Thank you for all of your work and research. I've learned a lot from you.

Dr. Yoho, Thank you for this excellent article.

I will file it with the other alternative treatment options I am saving for my adult son, who like many other people with ulcerative colitis, is not interested just yet in moving away from western medicine with their pharmaceuticals and endless procedures.

You can lead a horse to water.....

Recently I read that Crohn's disease starts because of aluminum, presumably primarily from vaccines, accumulating in the ileum. https://unbekoming.substack.com/p/what-is-crohns-disease

I made me think that sufferers really should use zeolite to detox along with other measures documented here.

My friend with Crohn's has been on Remicade for 10 years. Recently the insurance company or it's contractor Regence decided that she should get generic infusions that has now caused her significant health problems including mental instability. Regence refuses any attempt to go back to Remicade. It is a difference of $400.00 per quarterly infusion that is normally $15,000 each quarter. The person who was giving the generic told her that if she wanted to pay the difference to get the Remicade then Regence would deny the claim and not pay anything. NONE

Our medical system is so corrupted. Great article. I will be sharing with my friend and her Mom/advocate.

Here's a link for your friend to J&J's withMeSavings program for Remicade. It offers a "co-pay coupon" savings for those with private insurance (i.e. not on Medicare, Medicaid, or military plans). Her cost could be be as low as $5 per infusion. https://www.jnjwithme.com/patient/remicade/cost-support/#commercial-insurance

I do not have UC or Crohns, but I do have Ankylosing Spondylitis, Lupus, Raynaud's for extra fun...unfortunately, AS comes with IBS for most of us. Have you any research information on AS? It's a particularly nasty autoimmune condition which I controlled for decades with strict Keto, then after a parathyroid tumor nearly destroyed my spine, it's all been downhill. I keep Vit D levels at 95, freaks my Rheumy out every lab...take 2g micro curcumin, supposed to be easier to digest and absorb. I am curious that you didn't mention Rinvoq for UC/Crohns...I tried to take it for nearly 2 years, a vial medicine...in my opinion more harm than good. Thank you for any information you may have on AS.

My vitamin D level is at 130 to 140. You can look at Henry Lahore's Substack for more info.

Dear Dr. Yoho, unlike the friends of yours for whom this exhaustively researched article was written…those friends who DFR and DFL…I, for one am immensely grateful for this wealth of information. Two years ago, seemingly out of the blue, my husband began having symptoms of IBS-D. I am a former US Army medic, who still has a great interest in all things medical, so I started doing a deep dive into all things IBD. Three months ago, I started my husband on BPC-157, as well as Banatrol (a medical food) to help with the diarrhea symptoms. He has already had a modicum of improvement, but not nearly what we are wanting, particularly if he happens to eat something which causes a flare up. I was glad to have the link you provided for the VisBiome and we will be adding that to his repertoire! Also, I am about to go into what you call the ‘learning curve’ on Chlorine Dioxide. I have some on hand, purchased through a link you provided some time ago, but honestly the whole dilution/dosing regimen just seemed daunting to me, so I’ve not really done my research on it, but I’m about to! Thank you SO MUCH for this exceptionally informative article, and you have provided so many good things to try, which we will! Oh, btw, my cousin HAD ulcerative colitis, but after receiving a fecal implant, he is a good as gold now! Thanks for including that info in your article as well. I read all your articles you publish, and am grateful for all you do to help humanity…we are fortunate to have you!

I am hoping to get a fecal implant soon.

I had UC for 20 years or so. I had covid in 2022 and since then, my UC is 98% gone. Was it the increased vitamin D? The ivermectin? Another med taken for a week or so back then?

I don't claim to know, but I sure wonder a lot!

Robert Yoho, MD's avatar

Vitamin D is wonderful and heals many ills.

I have used Clo2 for detox. Read all of Jim Humble's books. I have copies of all in PDF. His story and the denial of Red Cross is incredible. Again, $pharma$ "at work" being the greedy cockroach that it is. A disgrace to humanity.

Jim Humble was a true humanitarian.

I suffered IBS for years, tried everything, most things made in worse included fermented foods and probiotics. Then I found out about celery juice. I still have 2 cups per day sometimes 3 on an empty stomach. Heals the gut. (Information is at medicalmedium.com)

Good one.

Ancient Nutrition in my fridge, Gut Recovery Probiotic, contains all the strains mentioned, each pill is 25 B CFU.

Forwarded it. Who knows. How could they not pay attention?

I will try this.

My nephew came down with very serious colitis in high school. Arrangements were made for him to treat with a high level medical professor. Fears of cancer, etc. were put in the parents' heads, and he was to start with a very toxic medication. Fortunately, my brother took him to see an old internist who thought his symptoms sounded like mold. My nephew was put on some type of charcoal supplement, clearing up in a month. Turned out the high school had mold. His classmate wasn't so lucky, and she now has a bag. Then there is my son's friend. who was put on Accutane. He now has severe colitis and is probably heading towards surgery. This may be anecdotal, but I know 4 people who ended up with colitis after Accutane. When I was a teenager, it was considered a last resort for severe cystic acne. Now it seems like it is handed out to any teenager with normal acne.

Robert, you keep "nailing it" with your research and articles! I'm so grateful for your work and the broadening of my perspective. Very sorry your friends weren't receptive, amused and in admiration that you expected that response and still went to the trouble anyway😅. But there are others waiting in the wings, reading and receptive, and we're grateful for your ability to cut through the endless confusion and find relevant suggestions. Thank you for your excellent work. Maybe your immediate target audience didn't benefit, but others certainly will!

I can attest to the good doc being the real thing. I met him at a 2021 event where the dangers of the vaxxes were the topic. He goes non stop trying to bring the best info to readers.

I had Microscopic Colitis and was spending literally 6 hrs a day on the toilet (resulting in hemorrhoids). AI told me to try VSL #3. That combined with free YT Rife Frequency music videos for Colitis 3 x day seems to have cured me, or at least put it in remission. Time will tell. Tried Cholestyromine but the nightly reflux was terrible.
